Cookies are small files that some platforms, such as web pages, can install on your computer. Their functions can be truly diverse: they can store browsing preferences, collect statistical information, allow certain technical functionalities etc. On certain occasions, cookies are used to store basic information about the browsing habits of the User or his/her computer, to the point, depending on the case, of being able to recognize them. Cookies are also used to manage the User’s session, reducing the number of times a password must be entered or to adapt the contents of the web page to the User’s preferences. Cookies can be either “of session”, i.e., cookies that will be eliminated from the User’s computer once the User leaves the website that generated them, or “persistent”, i.e., cookies that will remain on the User’s computer until a certain date.
